Methodology

The science of
reading the face.

Facial analysis in orthomolecular naturotherapy is grounded in the principle that the body's internal state is expressed through its external surfaces. The face — rich in blood supply, innervation, and rapidly renewing tissue — is the most responsive indicator of mineral status available to the trained eye.

The Principle

The body speaks in
surfaces.

Our food no longer gives us what we need. Every cell in the human body requires minerals to function. When a mineral falls below optimal levels, the body prioritizes essential functions — and the "non-essential" tissues are the first to show the deficit. Skin, hair, and nails are the body's early warning system.

Facial analysis reads these signals systematically: not as isolated symptoms, but as a coherent pattern that reveals the body's mineral landscape. This is diagnosis at the level of cause, not symptom.

Mineral Reference

The elements we track.

Each mineral leaves its signature on the face. Below: what we look for and why it matters.

Zinc

Facial Signs

White spots on nails, slow wound healing, acne along jawline, hair thinning

Biological Role

Immune function, skin repair, hormone synthesis

Magnesium

Facial Signs

Facial tics, under-eye twitching, tension in jaw, dull complexion

Biological Role

Cellular energy, nerve function, over 300 enzymatic reactions

Iron

Facial Signs

Pale mucous membranes, dark under-eye circles, brittle nails, fatigue

Biological Role

Oxygen transport, cellular respiration

Silica

Facial Signs

Loss of skin elasticity, weak hair, brittle nails, premature wrinkling

Biological Role

Connective tissue, collagen formation, structural integrity

Copper

Facial Signs

Premature graying, skin sagging, anemia unresponsive to iron

Biological Role

Collagen cross-linking, melanin production, iron metabolism

Selenium

Facial Signs

Skin discoloration, weak nails, compromised immunity

Biological Role

Antioxidant defense, thyroid function
